Under The Greenwood Tree is a reworking of William Shakespeare’s classic comedy As You Like It. It doesn’t change the style or speech rather it incorporates music and singing to create a magical world in where the characters love, laugh, fight, flee and live. All of the actors in the play, along side portraying a character are part of a whole ensemble that play a variety of instruments and sing many original songs composed by award-winning, Brooklyn-based composer Tyler Phillips (of The Winchester Local). I will be playing the part of Duchess Federicka, the evil queen of sorts as wells as using my cello and voice to complete the land of Arden. With an incredibly multi-talented cast, directed by Tyler Phillips, produced by Phillstock Entertainment and with Kevy Bergman as musical director “Under The Greenwood Tree” will run from March 20th to March 24th at The Frost Theatre of the Arts, 17 Frost st, Brooklyn (Bedford stop on the L).
